It's funny how you can go from being complete strangers with someone to striking up small talk and then from small talk you turn into an in-depth conversation about each other's interests and things you might have in common or things you'd like to do in the future.

I mean, there was this one girl, honestly I don't even remember how we started talking but we did. Honestly, my intentions were never to try to get at her. But dang, she was hella fine inside and out. Like everything about her is just so dope. She doesn't take any bullshit and she's amazing. She likes everything I like and vice-versa. It's like she was almost made for me. From Charles Hamilton to simple things. Her smile is like watching the sunrise on the beaches of California. If I had a choice I'd choose her over the sun. She's amazing and we just bonded over simple things. She's funny too. Well at least she keeps me laughing and smiling. I can't get enough of her. Before I go to sleep she's one of my final thoughts before I rest, always leaving a goofy smile on my face. I don't know what it is. But, she's just the bee's knees.

as I type this blog post I am listening to both versions of this song by Drake and Rick Ross. I can't get this song out of my head. Reminds me of an old track I can't remember the name of. But, I love it.

Honestly, things have been swaying both ways lately in my life. I've just been coasting through the month of August like it's nothing. But several incidents have encouraged me to do a couple of things. 1.) Cut people out of my life. Not everyone is supposed to be your friend. If you don't have a couple of enemies along the road of success then you're doing something wrong. 2.) I need to not let things get the better of me. Honestly, I try to not see myself as better than anyone else in this world because we're all human but sometimes I think I'm just on a different level than most people. It's like I'm on an island waiting for everyone to swim over and gain this knowledge that I have attained. 3.) I have to be very secure with myself because a lot of people try to bring me down with several jokes. Honestly, I've heard everything there is to say about me. Not many words can do harm to me. But, over a period of time it gets old. Like I can only be called fat so many times or a lame so many times. Or people tell me I can't rhyme. Like come on. I have talent. You people can't deny that.

But overall I've learned that people like me for me. And that a lot of people actually listen to what I have to say. I think my voice can travel far and help people and positively affect them. I feel like Peter Parker when he discovered he could shoot webs from his wrists.

I'm trying to mature. Like I've made my mistake lately. And I don't want to make those mistake again. It's really fustrating to see that I'm disappointing a lot of people.. I just want to try my best to put a smile on everyone's faces. There are a lot of people who believe in me. I just haven't been believing in myself. There have been a lot of distractions lately. And I've fallen into the trap. Like girls will always be there and I gotta get my act together... I tried chasing this one girl... It amazes me that a lot of people claim to be "real" in this world but, people can't seem to get the balls and say shit to your face. Like if you want to say something negative about me.. Please say it to my face.

And I've said this time and time again. I'm NOT really a rapper. I've never really claimed to be. And people always want to come at my head about it. They always want to make fun of me about it. People never really understand. Some people can relate to what I say. I may not be a DOPE ass emcee. But I am a dope writer. And a lot of people agree. If I really wanted to put my soul into rapping I could be a dope ass rapper.. Matter of fact... Next year, I will. Bet!

Last but not least... I have no trouble getting girls. Please, I just don't have my business all out there like everyone else. Man, oh man. It's been a minute since I wrote some deep insightful things on this blog... So I might do a little something.

But so far '10 has been a little crazy. Things haven't gone as planned... They have been up and down. Women problems. School problems. etc, etc. But things are looking up for me. I hope.

But my favorites have to be "Jordan 3's", "Bout It", "Racing Stripes" ft. Dom Kennedy, and "Monte Carlo Music". Like I can listen to this everyday and just vibe off of it.

Um, man. I'm turning 17 in about 2 hours.. Woah. I made it to 17. I know some dudes who didn't make it to my age. And I feel grateful. 16 was a loooooong year. Like I thought it would never end. But 16 was probably the best year of my life. I've experienced heartbreak, pain, love, lust, and everything else. It's just I gained and lost a lot during this age. Lost some friends and gained some. And I don't mind. I'm finally being reconized for me. People know my name. People know who MdB is. People know who Marcus Browder is. Like sometimes I feel humbled. Like I'm just being me. I don't who else to be and people actually like me for me.

I don't need to put on any front for anybody. I'm the same with everyone and people like me for that. I've been exposed to more shit during my 16th year of life. Man, it's been a trip. But 17 and beyond I'm gonna try to do right. I've been messing myself up and I can't have any of that anymore. Like I have to become a more mature Marcus. Like I have to make a lot of shit happen for me. and 2011 will be my greatest year. Yeah, not 2010. But, 2011. I'm growing up... And I like it. I can't stay a kid forever.

Today was Martin Luther King Jr day. This man was a father, preacher, doctor, and activist. If not for him I don't know where I would be. Would I have had the same oppurtunities as I do. 2009 was a great year. Full of up's and downs. I made a lot of friends. And I lost some friends. I did a lot of things I thought I wasn't going to do and I talked to a lot of people that I thought I would never talk to. I met my best friend in the year 2009.

Alyssa... I love you so much. You're my rock. I can tell you anything. You know me more than I know myself sometimes. we're moving into our 2nd year of friendship. Everyday I appreciate you more and more. And my love for you grows by each day. each hour. each minute, each second. I love you Buttercup.

I mean, I did a lot of things in '09. Went to a lot of places.. Me and my friend Jake got close. He's a good friend of mine. He's kind of like me. Just Puerto Rican, Shorter, and Less good looking. lol. He's a dope dude. We like all the same things for the majority our personalities are just different but he's a cool ass friend. And remember that one time we got stuck downtown at like 4 am? Haha, crazy shit. "Do Something Crazy".

This girl I met. From the second I saw her I knew I had to have her. Her smile, her eyes, her everything is just amazing. I never knew I could feel this way toward one person. She was a minor part of my 2009 but, she will be a major part of my 2010. She knows how much I'm beginning to care about her. I know the chase for her will be worth it. And I'm gonna be here for her until she tells me she doesn't want me.. Aaya, you're amazing baby. ;D

A lot of people began to dap me up and talk to me in 09. It's like the realized how dope I was. I mean people think I'm cool and shit. I'm not really all that. I mean I just do what I think is interesting. I played varsity football. Hey, we're not that great, so what. Most people can't do what we do. I blog. I mean I wasn't all that dedicated to the blog during some parts of 09 but hey, I'm back now. I like skate culture, I like New Era Fitteds. I like style. I appreciate the people I met in 09.

Like my favorite freshman Oona aka Uno. ;) She's sweeter than skittles. She's dope. I'm glad me and her are becoming friends. She's very laid back and chill. She kinda reminds me of the girl version of myself a little lol. But overall she's a great girl and I'm interested in seeing where our friendship will go.

My good friend Morgan Carter.. What can I say about her. We just started talking over the summer randomly. I think she's amazing. That goes to show that you really can't judge a book by its cover. I heard a lot of things about her. And despite all of that nonsense I love her. I'm sure she loves me too.. At least I hope she does. Me and her get along quite well because she's a real ass person. She'll tell you how it is in a second. And I'm real too. Because I do me. She's going to be one those people that are friends for a while.. maybe even a lifetime.

My BROTHERS on the football team. Yeah, brothers. I go to war with you guys and against you guys. We spend a lot of time together and hopefully our Senior season goes better than our Junior season. I want ya'll to know in 2010 I'm going to be lifting my ass off with you guys to get to a higher goal. And let's get some championship rings.

My new good friend Abbie. I love her so much. We have some good talks and she's always taking me shopping with her. She's a good contrast for me. But we connect on a different level. ily Abigail. ;)

Shoutout to all of my ex's, hook-ups, and crushes in 2009. You all taught me some things. Taught me some valuble information. And I'm grateful. Thanks for the learning experience.

Albums Of The Year

10.) ONLY BUILT FOR CUBAN LINX Pt. II. - Raekwon. This album was sick! I liked the overall vibe to it. It had the nuts to go up against BP3 and it gave a few good punches. Raekwon definitely knows what to do when he gets in the studio

9.) 'TIL THE CASKET DROPS - Clipse. This is one of the albums I was looking foward to ALL YEAR and it didn't disappoint me. Every song was dope. I liked "Kinda Like A Big Deal" ft. KanYe West because everyone on the track killed it. And "Popular Demand (Popeyes)" was amazing. The whole vibe to the track was dope.

8.) LOVE VS. MONEY - The-Dream. This album was great. He really did he thing. The songs were relatable and they were very good. The production was awesome. I can't pinpoint my favorite song because I listen to them all equally because they are ILL.

7.) LOSO'S WAY - Fabolous. This is probably the best album Fabolous has ever dropped. Every song was amazing. The production was great and the lyrics were out of this world. "When The Money Goes" was dope. Like I couldn't believe how great the album was when I first heard it.

6.) TRANSITION - Ryan Leslie. It's Ryan Leslie.. He's a genius. Come on..

5.) ATTENTION DEFICIT - Wale. I expected this album to be great. After hearing all the songs that DIDN'T make it to the album. Mr. Folarin didn't disappoint. I LOVED IT.

4.) READY - Trey Songz. This is his greatest work.. Every song was amazing. I've listening to it many times and they are great songs to play. He has a great voice man...

3.) MAN ON THE MOON: The End of Day - Kid Cudi. This is like my soundtrack I could relate to what he was saying and every track was great. But "Hyyerr" ft. Chip Tha Ripper is amazing..

2.) SO FAR GONE - Drake. Technically this is an album since he released it in stores. =P

This mixtape came out on Thanksgiving and I've been listening ever since. Matter of fact I'm listening to it now. I can't single out just one song on the mixtape because they were all great. He made the format of the tape like a vinyl. You can't skip songs. It's one continuous song. It's dope. The metaphores, the incredible wordplay and the instrumentals.

I love how most of these girls say they deserve the best. But yet they stay in dead end relationships. Their boyfriend doesn't care about them. But these women are lost in love. He doesn't really love you if he's playing games. If he'd rather smoke, or drink or do some other activity over spending quality time with you, you're stuuuupid for staying with this guy. This is how I see it, if you're in a relationship, Family, HER, friends. That's how it goes. You should never ever put money over your relationship. or any other bad things. like drugs, etc, etc. If he isn't trying to please you then why are you with him. And then he cops an attitude with you and he bad mouths you. What is it gonna take for you to see that maybe he doesn't love you as much as you thought.

He takes you out.. And you end up paying. He causes drama. And you're still with him.

So, I had a girlfriend. Broke up with her. Now this girl is everywhere. I'm even semi-forced to sit with her at lunch man. I swear. I'm sick of seeing her face. It's like a constant reminder of shit. She cool with people I'm cool with. And I don't like that. It annoys me. Her face is starting to annoy me. The people I'm around are starting to annoy me. I can't even talk to anyone.. Well one person I can always talk to.

She's the most amazing girl I've ever met. She's the best. I love her. Yes, I love her. and I'm not "hittin' it" or anything. She knows my secrets. I know her's. She's my best friend. I can tell her anything. It doesn't shock her..

And... I didn't even know I had a reputation at my school. Seriously. But apparently all the girls think I'm a major flirt. And I flirt with every girl. And I try to get every girls number. NOT TRUE. Honestly.. I just say things to say them. I guess I'm putting on a show for you guys. Someone needs to provide the entertainment.. So why not me? I mean, I see beauty in almost everyone because it's there. Like someone doesn't have to have the prettiest person ever for me to say "Hey beautiful". There is something I see beautiful in you and I like it.

So, don't mistake me being super nice and shit as being flirty and shit. I mean. Come on... In the words of Dom Kennedy "I WOULDN'T FUCK HALF OF YA'LL. I AIN'T WITH THAT RAPPER STUFF"

And speaking of Dom he sent me a tweet on twitter.. I asked him what does it take to be successful in the rap industry and he told me "make music that means something and work hard"

Like forreal. Why does my music have to be about being "fresh". That shit doesn't matter to me. I'm not materialistic. I'm not like these other niggas. I'm not like the other "rappers" at my school. I spit about some crazy funny shit and niggas be like "nah, nigga you can't rap. YOU SUCK" we are two different people.
